BEIJING, May 13 (Xinhua) -- The following is a list of major shows, concerts, exhibitions and other events in China on Tuesday, May 14:
-- The Gala Evening of Asia Ballet
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center
As the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations commences on May 15, the 19th Meet in Beijing Arts Festival has set up a section for Asian cultures that opens with "The Gala Evening of Asia Ballet."
Ballet performers from China, the Republic of Korea and the Philippines will perform "Swan Lake," "Don Quixote" and other classical ballets.
-- Yu Opera Chang Xiangyu
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: National Center for the Performing Arts, Beijing
The opera is a tribute to Chinese Yu Opera actress Chang Xiangyu (1923-2004), who sung Yu Opera and became the "Yu Opera queen" despite many hardships.
The opera will be performed by the Henan Province Yu Opera Troupe I, formerly known as the "Xiangyu Opera Club," founded by Chang in 1948.
-- Enduring Memories of Hangzhou
Time: 7:45 p.m.
Location: the West Lake, Hangzhou
"Enduring Memories of Hangzhou," formerly called "Impression of the West Lake," is a large on-water live-action performance featuring a symphony orchestra and dazzling natural night scenes. Enditem
