WUHAN, May 16 (Xinhua) -- A long-extinct Chinese ancient textile pattern has been revived on the official uniforms for the 2019 Military World Games in Wuhan.

Introduced in a press conference by the Games' executive committee here on Thursday, the textile pattern of "field hunting", which was rediscovered in the 1980s from silk embroidery dating back 2,000 years, was believed to be an ancient symbol for the military.

Based on this symbol, designers from the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology incorporated the "Military glory, World peace" slogan into the design of the Games' uniforms, according to Ke Yongxiang, General Manager from official supplier Kalme.

All uniforms feature the same design but are divided into three different duties by colors, with staff members wearing blue, technical official sporting red, and volunteers in green tracksuits.

The 7th Military World Games will open in Wuhan on October 18, 2019, and will play host to over 10,000 military athletes from more than 100 countries and regions. Enditem
