Defending champions South Korea fully prepared for Sudirman Cup

NANNING, May 18(Xinhua) -- After winning their fourth Sudirman Cup two year ago, South Korea head coach An Jae-chang believes that now the fully prepared South Korea is capable to achieve great results again.

Two leading players of South Korea SON Wan-ho and SUNG Ji-hyun will miss this year's Sudirman Cup due to injury. Just like China, South Korea badminton team is mainly composed of young players.

"South Korea has accumulated abundant experience in previous Thomas Cup and Sudirman Cup and is confident of achieving good results in the tournament," said An.

South Korea's 17-year-old An Se Young beat former Chinese Olympic champion Li Xuerui to win the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Super 300 tournament. "It's a great honor to be both a player and team leader in this year's Sudirman Cup and I'm thrilled for the upcoming games," said An Se Young.

South korea is also competitive in women's doubles and men's doubles. "I hope the team can concentrate on the game, show their best form, give full play to win best results," said An Jae-chang.

South Korea will open their Sudirman Cup campaign against Hong Kong, China on Monday. Enditem
