BEIJING, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Audiences in Shanghai will be able to enjoy symphonies by the Philadelphia Orchestra under the baton of Yannick Nezet-Seguin at the Shanghai Oriental Art Center on May 26.
The famed orchestra, together with Chinese soprano Lei Jia, will perform a new vocal concerto by Chinese composer Tan Dun, titled "The Deer of Nine Colors," which was inspired by a painting from the ancient murals at the Mogao Caves in Dunhuang, Gansu Province.
The vocal concerto premiered at the National Center for the Performing Arts in Beijing on Friday.
The concert will also feature "Rachmaninov: Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini," with Zhang Haochen playing the piano, and "Sibelius: Symphony No. 2 in D major." Enditem
