BEIJING, May 21 (Xinhua) -- The following is a list of major shows, concerts, exhibitions and other events in China on Wednesday, May 22:
-- Jingju Theatre Company of Beijing: Traditional Highlights
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: National Centre for the Performing Arts, Beijing
The Jingju Theatre Company of Beijing, the largest professional performing arts ensembles of Peking Opera in China, will present audiences with three classic excerpts of Peking Operas once performed by the late Peking Opera master Mei Lanfang.
The Wednesday performance is the first part of a two-day show commemorating the 125th birthday of the master.
-- Leo de Maria's piano solo concert
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center
On Wednesday evening, young pianist Leo de Maria will be performing in Beijing as part of his national tour in China.
Born in 1995, Leo, son and apprentice of renowned Spanish piano soloist Leonel Morales, studied at the University Alfonso X el Sabio and has been a prize winner at multiple international piano competitions.
-- Dance drama "Du Fu"
Time: 7:30 p.m.
Location: Shanghai Oriental Art Center
Presented by Chongqing Song & Dance Ensemble, the dance drama focuses on the ups and downs in the life of Du Fu, the celebrated ancient Chinese poet. The drama was inspired by Du's solemn and calm literary style and aims to visualize his philosophy of art and life in the form of dancing. Enditem
