DOHA, May 29 (Xinhua) -- Qatar on Wednesday denied that it imposed any restrictions on United Arab Emirates (UAE) exports, adding the responsibility lies with the UAE authorities rather than any measures taken by Qatar.

"The UAE made on Tuesday a request to the World Trade Organization (WTO) to refer, for a second time, a complaint it made about alledged Qatari restrictions on the imports, distribution and sales of goods to a dispute-resolution panel," the state-run Qatar News Agency quoted a statement by Qatar's Government Communications Office as saying.

"The supply of goods from the UAE has been heavily restricted since the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Egypt barred their suppliers from exporting to Qatar after blockading the country in June 2017," read the statement.

It pointed out that Qatar at a previous meeting asserted that the alleged Qatari restrictions did not exist, adding Emirati exporters may be suffering because they cannot export to Qatar.

The statement indicated that all Qatari actions taken concerning goods originating from the UAE have been, and remain, consistent with Qatar's WTO obligations. Enditem
