RIYADH -- The Islamic Summit on Saturday reaffirmed the Palestinians' right to statehood in its final communique, Al Arabiya TV reported.

Held in Islam's holiest city Mecca along with Gulf and Arab summits, the summit of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation reiterated the centrality of the issues of Palestine and Jerusalem to the Islamic nation, highlighting its principled and continuous support at all levels for the Palestinian people in attaining their inalienable rights including self-determination and the establishment of an independent and sovereign state. KHARTOUM -- Sudan's Foreign Ministry on Saturday announced that the Sudanese ambassador to Qatar had been summoned for consultation.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would like to note that Sudan's Ambassador to Qatar Fath Al-Rahman Ali Mohamed has been summoned for consultation," said a ministry statement. (Sudan-Qatar-Summon)

JERUSALEM -- Two projectiles were launched from Syria towards Israel on Saturday night, causing no injuries, the Israeli army said.

The projectiles, rockets or mortars, were launched towards Mount Hermon in the Israeli-annexed Golan Heights, a military spokesperson said in a statement. (Syria-Israel)

TRIPOLI -- Forces of the UN-backed Libyan government on Saturday progressed against the rival east-based army in south of the capital Tripoli, as the armed conflict continues between the two parties.

"Following a well-established plan, our forces managed to progress in two axes in southern Tripoli, destroyed a number of vehicles belonging to Haftar's forces (army), and captured a number of their fighters," Mohamed Khalid, a field commander of the government forces, told Xinhua. (Libya) Enditem
