Writer Chen Zhongshi's historical novel, Bai Lu Yuan ( White Deer Plain), tells an epic tale of the complicated relationship between the three generations of the two peasant families feuding over land on the vast Plain of Shaanxi Province. Since 2015, Shaanxi People's Art Theatre has adapted the novel into a drama, and this version is appraised as very authentic.
