TEHRAN -- Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the so-called U.S.-devised peace plan between the Palestinians and Israel is doomed to failure.

"The plan, which is a betrayal of the Muslim world, will never succeed," Khamenei said, making the remarks during a speech at Muslims' Eid al-Fitr prayers ceremony. (Iran-U.S.-Palestine)

BAGHDAD -- Three Islamic State (IS) militants were killed Wednesday in an airstrike by the U.S.-led coalition aircraft in Iraq's western province of Anbar, the Iraqi military said.

Acting on intelligence reports from al-Jazira Operations Command, the U.S.-led coalition aircraft carried out an airstrike on IS positions south of Akkas gas field in the western province, the media office of the Joint Operations Command said in a statement. (Iraq-IS)

CAIRO -- Altogether six criminals who stole a private car were killed on Wednesday in a shootout with police forces in Egypt's province of Sharqiya north of the capital Cairo, official MENA news agency reported.

KUWAIT CITY -- Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah on Wednesday condemned the terrorist attack on a security checkpoint in Egypt's Sinai.
