ISTANBUL -- Five workers were killed and five others wounded on Thursday when a fire erupted at a factory compound in northwestern Turkey, local media reported.
The fire broke out at the four-storey factory building in Kocaeli province in which there were at least 30 people, according to the Daily Sabah. (Turkey-Factory Fire)

CAIRO -- Up to 14 terrorists involved in a deadly attack on a checkpoint in the North Sinai city of Arish were killed in an exchange of fire with security forces, the country's Interior Ministry said late Wednesday night.

RAMALLAH -- Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Ishtaye said on Thursday that an Israeli financial war on the Palestinians has placed the Palestinian Authority in a very difficult situation.
