BEIJING, June 17 (Xinhua) -- China has been cracking down on online drug trade and other new drug trafficking methods, according to the China National Narcotics Control Commission (CNNCC).

A total of 2,062 suspects were arrested and 247 kg of drugs confiscated in a crackdown on online drug trade in 2018, says a report on China's drug control situation issued by the CNNCC Monday.

Police in Shanghai, east China's Jiangsu Province and other areas have found some suspects using self-service package lockers to deliver drugs, the report says.

Suspects have been selling and buying drugs and chemicals used for illicit drug manufacture as well as looking for drug couriers via the Internet, with the payments made online, the report says, adding that some drug dealers also use the dark web for trade. Enditem
