BEIJING, June 18 (Xinhua) -- China's 10-year treasury bond futures opened lower on Tuesday, with the contract for September 2019 opened 0.06 percent lower at 97.61 yuan (about 14.16 U.S. dollars).
The contract for settlement in December 2019 opened 0.03 percent lower at 97.16 yuan. The contract for March 2020 opened 0.09 percent lower at 96.81 yuan.
The contracts are agreements to buy or sell treasury bonds at a predetermined price on a set date. They allow investors to bet on and profit from the movements in the value of the bonds.
The treasury bond futures were launched at the Shanghai-based China Financial Futures Exchange and started trading on March 20, 2015. Enditem
