TUNIS -- The Tunisian parliament has adopted a draft organic law on elections and referendums, Tunis Afrique Presse (TAP) reported late Tuesday.
This new law, as an amendment to Organic Law of May 26, 2014, was adopted with 128 votes in favour, 30 against and 14 abstentions. (Tunisia-Election Law)

TEHRAN -- Iran will not extend the 60-day deadline for the parties to the 2015 nuclear deal to take practical measures to save Iran's interests, the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said Wednesday.
"Iran's two-month deadline for the remaining parties of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (the nuclear deal) cannot be extended," Behrouz Kamalvandi, spokesman of AEOI, was quoted as saying by the state TV. (Iran-Nuclear Deal-Deadline)

BAGHDAD -- Iraqi President Barham Salih on Wednesday met with the visiting Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to discuss boosting bilateral relations and the recent developments in the Middle East.
A statement by Iraqi presidency office said that Salih told the Kuwaiti emir that "Iraq has a serious desire to build advanced ties with its neighbors, especially with Kuwait in a manner that serves the common interests of the two brotherly peoples." (Iraq-Kuwait-Meeting)

SANAA -- At least 12 people were wounded in clashes between Yemen's coast guards and "separatist militias" backed by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), when the latter tried to land in the Yemeni Socotra Island in an attempt to take over the seaport, the Yemeni local authority in Socotra and officials said on Wednesday.
The clashes erupted on Tuesday afternoon following the arrival of a UAE-flagged vessel at the island's main seaport. (Yemen-Houthi) Enditem
