TEHRAN -- The U.S. drone downed on Thursday in the southern part of the country had crossed the Iranian borders, chief commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said.

"Downing of the U.S. drone has a clear message that any foreign intrusion into Iran's territory would draw a crushing response," Major General Hossein Salami was quoted as saying by official IRNA news agency. (Iran-IRGC-U.S. drone)

DAMASCUS -- China has donated 100 buses to Syria to facilitate public transportation in the country.

The Chinese Embassy in Syria said in a statement that the buses will help enhance the public transportation in Syrian cities, which will improve the daily lives of the Syrian people. (Syria-China)

ISTANBUL -- Turkey would retaliate if the United States imposes sanctions over its purchase of Russian S-400 missile defense system, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Thursday.

In a meeting with foreign press in Istanbul, Erdogan urged the United States to be sensitive to sanctions against Turkey "which is a NATO member." (Turkey-U.S.-S400)

DUBAI -- The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Jordan on Thursday kicked off a joint military exercise in the UAE's capital Abu Dhabi, the official WAM news agency reported.
