GAZA -- A large strike in the Gaza Strip has been launched and protests will continue in the West Bank on Tuesday, against the start of a workshop organized by the United States in Manama, the capital of Bahrain, under the title "Peace to Prosperity".

Official and private institutions, including banks, and most of shops in the Gaza Strip were closed at the invitation of the Palestinian factions, which also called for demonstrations and conferences in order to protest against the workshop in Bahrain. (Gaza-Bahrain)

ANKARA -- Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Tuesday vowed to learn lessons from "the messages that given by people" in June 23 re-elections in Istanbul at which his ruling party suffered a historic blow.

"We don't have the luxury of turning a deaf ear and ignoring the messages given by our nation," Erdogan said on his first public appearance since the rerun of local elections. (Turkey-Istanbul)

MANAMA -- Jared Kushner, senior advisor to U.S. President Donald Trump, said that Washington's Middle East peace plan would not follow the Arab Peace Initiative, a proposal for ending the Arab-Israeli conflict endorsed by the Arab League in 2002, Qatari network Al Jazeera reported Tuesday.

Kushner made the remarks in his interview with Al Jazeera just ahead of his departure for a U.S.-led economic workshop over the peace plan, better known as the "Deal of the Century," which will kick off in the Bahraini capital of Manama later in the day. (Bahrain-U.S.-Workshop)

JERUSALEM -- The national security consultants of Israel, the United States and Russia met on Tuesday in a first trilateral security summit in Jerusalem, to discuss regional issues, with an emphasis on Iran and Syria.

The summit was attended by U.S. National Security Adviser John Bolton, Secretary of the Russian National Security Council, Nikolai Patrushev, and Israel's National Security Adviser Meir Ben-Shabbat. (U.S.-Russia-Iran-Israel)

TEHRAN -- Iran will suspend more of its commitments under 2015 nuclear deal early July, Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) Ali Shamkhani said on Tuesday.

JERUSALEM -- Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is considering the cancelation of the general elections to the parliament (the Knesset), which are set for September 17, as the Likud party, headed by Netanyahu, said Tuesday.

The previous Israeli elections were held on April 9, but Netanyahu failed to form a coalition of at least 61 Knesset members out of 120, with the Likud right-wing party winning 35 seats. (Israel) Enditem
