BEIJING, June 28 (Xinhua) -- Yuan Renguo, former chairman of Kweichow Moutai Group, was indicted for taking bribes, according to the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) Friday.

The Guiyang Municipal People's Procuratorate filed the case in the Guiyang Municipal Intermediate People's Court, said a statement on the SPP website.

Prosecutors accused Yuan of taking advantage of his posts to seek benefits for others and accepting vast amounts of money and gifts.

The prosecutors had informed Yuan of his litigation rights, interrogated the defendant and listened to his defense counsel's opinions, the SPP said. Enditem
