ZHENGZHOU, July 1 (Xinhua) -- The first finance museum opened Saturday in Zhengzhou, the capital city of central China's Henan Province, according to local authorities.

The museum, with an area of 3,200 square meters, was built jointly by the city government and the Chinese Museum of Finance.

A series of multi-media exhibitions will be held in the museum to display the history of Chinese currency and finance, the financial history of the city, and the history of Henan merchants.

"The museum can not only promote the financial knowledge for the public, but also attract talents in finance through related events," said Wu Fumin, deputy mayor of the city.

This is the first themed museum built after the city announced a plan in May to build 100 museums in the next three years. Enditem
