BEIJING, July 4 (Xinhua) -- The following is a list of major shows, concerts, exhibitions and events in China on Friday, July 5:

-- Dance Drama: "Dream to Glide"

Location: Beijing Workers' Gymnasium

Time: 7:30 p.m.

It tells the story of skating champion Zhang Dan, from her initial steps on the ice as an 8-year-old, the support of her father, the trials and hardships along the way to becoming a world champion, and then to finding a sense of self and value.

The show, combining skating, dance, drama, acrobatics and Western and Chinese folk music instruments, presents a feast for both the eyes and ears.

-- Play: "Life of Galileo"

Location: Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center

Time: 7:30 p.m.(July 5 to 13); 2 p.m.(July 14)

A Chinese version of German classic play Life of Galileo, the stage play follows the career of legendary Italian astronomer and physicist Galileo Galilei, and his struggle to prove the Copernican theory of a heliocentric universe.

As one of German playwright Bertolt Brecht's greatest masterpieces, the play was written in 1938 and received its first theatrical production at the Zurich Schauspielhaus, Switzerland, in September 1943.

-- Drama: "Tartuffe"

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center

The Lithuanian National Drama Theater will present a new drama production based on French playwright and actor Moliere's satire "Tartuffe" after the show shook the audience of the international theatre festival in Avignon, France, in 2018.

Director Oskaras Korsunovas has won the Lithuanian National Prize for Culture and Arts and the Europe Prize New Theatrical Realities for his works. His version of the classic comedy will be staged in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Quanzhou and Xiamen during a month-long China tour. Enditem
