BEIJING, July 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.19 percent, at 3,011.06 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.8 percent higher at 9,443.21 points.

The combined turnover in the two indices stood at 374.3 billion yuan (about 54.5 billion U.S. dollars), shrinking from 438.5 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Most stocks rose, with gainers outnumbering losers by 843 to 547 on the Shanghai bourse and 1,305 to 732 in Shenzhen.

Stocks of pork, semiconductors and liquor makers were among the bellwethers, with semiconductor producer Fujian Raynen Technology Co., Ltd seeing its share price rise by the daily 10-percent limit to 14.92 yuan a share.

Bucking the trend, companies in sectors of environmental protection, as well as real estate, saw their share prices drop.
