SHANGHAI, July 7 (Xinhua) -- The following are art festivals, shows and exhibitions available in Shanghai in the coming week:

The Little Prince |Dance Theater from Luca Silvestrini's Protein

Date: July 12-13, 2019

Venue: Shanghai International Dance Center

Introduction:

Based on one of the most popular literary works in the world, The Little Prince tells the story of a young prince who left behind his tiny asteroid and journeyed through the universe. Performed by Protein, one of the most distinctive voices in British dance theater, the show connects theatrical experiences and special stage effects with the everyday. Artistic Director Luca Silvestrini is known for blending original choreography with text, humor and music.

Exhibition: An Opera for Animals

Date: Daily except Mon until Aug. 25, 2019

Venue: Rockbund Art Museum

Introduction:

In collaboration with Hong Kong's contemporary art center Para Site, Rockbund Art Museum is doing a unique exhibition of animals. The museum entrance has been turned into a real-size butcher shop. With the effort of a big group of artists, the exhibition divided the museum space along with multiple themes which explore anthrozoology, colonization, new technology and many more.

Giovanni Ozzola and Yang Fudong Dual Solo Exhibitions

Date: Daily until Aug. 18, 2019

Venue: Fosun Foundation

Introduction:

Italian artist Giovanni Ozzola's artworks display a mixture of mediums that play with day and night, light and darkness. The exhibition features a total of 11 artworks from Ozzola. And Yang Fudong's image installation work "If I Had to Explain, You Wouldn't Understand" makes its debut in mainland China.
