BEIJING, July 12 (Xinhua) -- The following is a list of major shows, concerts, exhibitions and events in China on Saturday, July 13:

-- Opera: Les Contes d'Hoffmann

Location: Opera House, National Center for the Performing Arts, Beijing

Time: 7:00 p.m.

"Les Contes d'Hoffmann" is the last work of light opera master Jacques Offenbach, also one of his most famous opera compositions. The prototype of the hero is German writer and poet E.T.A Hoffmann, which tells a fantastic love story of Hoffmann and three women.

The NCPA production of Les Contes d'Hoffmann is another French opera masterpiece produced by world-acclaimed opera director Francesca Zambello and set designer Peter J. Davison, marking their return after the NCPA production of "Carmen."

-- Play: One Starry Night: Out of The Blue

Location: Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center

Time: 10:30 a.m./3:30 p.m.

Jointly created by troupes from China, America and France, the play, as art enlightenment, will enchant children with a magic gallery journey on a moon boat, starting from Van Gogh's painting "The Starry Night."

Over 30 paintings from more than 10 world-renowned artists including Leonardo da Vinci and Claude Monet will be presented via multimedia technologies, impressing children with the charm of art and the beauty of colors.

-- Exhibition: Sharing a Common Future: Exhibition of Treasures from National Museums along the Silk Road

Location: National Museum of China, Beijing

Time: 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Sponsored by national museums of China and 12 other countries, the exhibition features 234 items of selected cultural relics that display the diversity of civilizations along the land and maritime Silk Roads.

The exquisite relics on display fully demonstrate the fusion and mutual learning of science, technology and art among countries along the Belt and Road. Enditem
