ANKARA -- The first batch of Russian S-400 air defense systems was delivered in Turkish capital city of Ankara on Friday, the Turkish Defense Ministry said.

Within the purchase contract signed between Turkey and Russia, the first shipment of S-400 arrived at Murted Air Base, formerly called the Akinci Air Base, located in northeastern suburb of Ankara, the ministry said in a written statement. (Turkey-Russia)

TEHRAN -- Iran will deliver a "crushing response" to any violation of the country's sovereignty by Israel, Iranian Defense Minister Amir Hatami said Friday.

"Any enemy (including Israel) which seeks to target the sovereignty of the Islamic Republic of Iran, be it at any level, will receive a decisive and crushing response it shall regret," Hatami was quoted as saying by the state TV. (Iran-Israel-Threats)

BAGHDAD -- Four Islamic State (IS) militants and two paramilitary Hashd Shaabi members were killed Friday in an operation to hunt down the extremist militants in Iraq's eastern province of Diyala, a statement and a provincial official said.

Early in the morning, the Iraqi army, interior ministry's provincial intelligence and Hashd Shaabi units carried out an operation to hunt down IS militants in the rugged area in the northeastern part of the province after being tipped off by intelligence report, the Hashd Shaabi said in a statement. KUWAIT CITY -- Kuwait seized 10 million Tamol pills enlisted among narcotics that affect human mental condition, the Kuwaiti Customs Directorate General said on Friday.

Jamal Al-Jalawi, Director of the Kuwaiti Customs Directorate General, said in a statement that the banned drugs were seized by personnel of the customs warehouses management at Shuwaikh Port. (Kuwait-Drugs) Enditem
