BEIJING, July 13 (Xinhua) -- The following are highlights of China's key local business news from the past week.
-- CHINA CLOUD COMPUTING
China's cloud computing market reached 96.28 billion yuan (14 billion U.S. dollars) in 2018, up 39.2 percent from 2017, according to a white paper released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology.
-- FOSUN BUYS GLAXOSMITHKLINE FACTORY
Shanghai Fosun Pharmaceutical (Group) Co. Ltd. will spend up to 250 million yuan (36 million U.S. dollars) to buy GlaxoSmithKline's Suzhou pharmaceutical factory in east China.
The deal will allow YaoPharma Co., Ltd., Fosun's Chongqing unit, to acquire all production facilities and authorizations for the GSK plant's chronic hepatitis B drug lamivudine.
-- CHANGAN SALES DECLINE
Chinese automaker Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. reported a 24.8 percent annual decrease in automobile sales in June.
Its auto sales totaled 141,655 units last month, compared with 188,458 units in the same month a year ago.
China, the world's largest auto market, saw car sales drop for the first time in over two decades in 2018.
-- GREAT WALL MOTORS SALES RISE
Great Wall Motors, China's largest sport utility vehicle (SUV) and pickup manufacturer, saw vehicle sales rise 4.7 percent year on year to 493,538 units in the first half of 2019.
Haval, one of the carmaker's brands, drove the overall sales growth of Great Wall Motors with more than 350,000 units sold between January and June, up 8.5 percent year on year.
-- HONGQI LUXURY SUV HITS MARKET
China's automaker FAW Group on Friday began selling the first C-Class sport utility vehicle (SUV) of its iconic Hongqi brand in a bid to capture a slice of the luxury car market.
The Hongqi HS7 model, launched in the northeastern Chinese city of Changchun, is priced at a range of 349,800 yuan (50,900 U.S. dollars) to 459,800 yuan. Enditem
