Ein Heldenleben: SZSO 2018-19 Season Closing Concert

Introduction:

The SZSO (Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra) 2018-19 season closing concert will begin with Paganini's violin concerto No. 1 in D major, which will be presented by Ning Feng, the gold medal winner of the 2005 Paganini International Violin Competition. In the second half of the concert, the concertmaster will give a virtuoso solo passage from Richard Strauss's tone poem Ein Heldenleben.

Antje Weithaas Violin Recital

As a violin soloist, Antje Weithaas has a wide-ranging repertoire that includes the great concertos by Mozart, Beethoven and Schumann, as well as modern classics by Shostakovich, Ligeti and Gubaidulina. She has worked with most of Germany's leading orchestras and has collaborated with illustrious conductors. In the upcoming concert, Weithaas will play Ysaye's sonatas together with the solo sonatas and partitas of Johann Sebastian Bach.

Naturally 7 is an American music group established in 1999 in New York City. They are a band without a band, instead using a distinct a-cappella style which they call "Vocal Play". They simulate the sounds of an instrumental band using only their voices, mouths and distortion effects, imitating the sounds of drums, guitars, horns and flutes.
