SANAA, July 15 (Xinhua) -- Yemen's warring parties agreed Monday on "new measures" to reinforce the cease-fire deal and troops withdrawal from the port city of Hodeidah, according to a UN statement.

Representatives from both Yemeni warring parties met on Sunday and Monday aboard a UN ship on the Red Sea for resumed discussions on the implementation of a stalled troops withdrawal from Hodeidah as agreed in a deal reached in Stockholm in December last year.

"They agreed on a mechanism and new measures to reinforce the cease-fire and de-escalation, to be put in place as soon as possible with support from the United Nations Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement (UNMHA)," read the statement.

The meeting was chaired by Michael Lollesgaard, head of the UN observer team in Hodeidah and chairman of the Redeployment Coordination Committee (RCC) which includes the representatives of the Yemeni government and Houthi group.

Hodeidah is the main Yemeni port city on the Red Sea and key lifeline entry of most Yemen's commercial imports and humanitarian aid.
