BAGHDAD -- Unknown drone bombarded on Friday a paramilitary Hashd Shaabi camp in Iraq's central province of Salahudin, wounding at least three Iraqis and two Iranians, a local security source said.

The attack took place before dawn when unknown drone bombarded the headquarters of 52nd Brigade of Hashd Shaabi, which is located near the town of Amirli near the town of Tuz-Khurmato, some 90 km east of the provincial capital Tikrit, the source said on condition of anonymity. (Iraq-Iran)

ISTANBUL -- At least 48 people, including 20 military personnel, have been detained on Friday in Turkey over their alleged links to a group accused of orchestrating a coup attempt in 2016.

Police launched simultaneous operations in 12 provinces across the country to catch a total of 52 soldiers, upon the order of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Izmir, the state-run Anadolu agency said. (Istanbul-Coup)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Friday seized the British oil tanker, Stena Impero, in the Strait of Hormuz, an IRGC statement said.

DAMASCUS -- A total of five Syrian soldiers were killed and four others wounded on Thursday evening in an ambush by the Islamic State (IS) militants in eastern Syria, a war monitor said Friday.

The IS militants ambushed the Syrian soldiers in the desert region of the city of al-Mayadeen in the eastern countryside of Deir al-Zour Province, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. (Syria-IS-Ambush) Enditem
