BAGHDAD -- Three Islamic State (IS) militants were killed on Saturday in two airstrikes conducted by U.S.-led coalition aircraft in Iraq's northern province of Nineveh, Iraqi military said.

In coordination with Nineveh's Operations Command, U.S.-led coalition aircraft carried out two airstrikes on the IS positions in al-Baaj area near the border with Syria, the Joint Operations Command said in statement. (Iraq-IS)

TEHRAN -- The British oil tanker, seized by Iran on Friday, had an accident with an Iranian fishing boat and ignored its distress call, Allah-Morad Afifipoor, head of Ports and Maritime Organization in southern Hormozgan Province, said on Saturday.

The British "Stena Impero" tanker had "collided with a fishing boat on its route and, according to law, after an accident, it is necessary that the causes should be investigated," Afifipoor was quoted as saying by Press TV. (Iran-UK-Tanker)

SANAA -- Yemen's Houthi rebels said they launched bomb-laden drone attacks at King Khaled Air Base in Asir region in southwestern Saudi Arabia on Saturday, Houthi military spokesman said in a statement.

"The attacks targeted radar sites and other military facilities in the air base," Yahya Sarea said in the statement, adding the attacks came in retaliation against Saudi-led coalition's airstrikes. (Yemen-Saudi Arabia)

RIYADH -- King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia has approved hosting the U.S. armed forces in the kingdom, Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.
