ISTANBUL -- Turkish prosecutors issued detention warrants for at least 77 suspects, including soldiers and suspended police officers, on Tuesday across the country over their alleged links to a group accused of orchestrating a coup attempt in 2016.

Simultaneous operations were launched in 15 provinces to catch 23 suspects, including 20 soldiers on active duty, upon the order of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office in Izmir, the state-run Anadolu agency said. (Istanbul-Detention)

KHARTOUM -- Chairman of Sudan's Transitional Military Council (TMC), Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, on Tuesday condemned the violent events which happened in El Obeid, the capital city of North Kordofan State on Monday.

"What happened in El Obeid city is a crime that necessitates immediate and deterrent punishment," said Al-Burhan during interview with local media representatives that would be published later Tuesday. (Sudan-Conflict)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday strongly condemned as a "war crime" the recent deadly strike by the Saudi-led coalition on a popular market in the Yemen province of Saada.

TRIPOLI -- Ministry of Transport of the UN-backed Libyan government on Tuesday denied the remarks of UN Envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame about the military use of M'etiga international airport in the capital Tripoli.

"Ministry of Transport is surprised about the remarks of the UN Envoy to Libya Ghassan Salame during a UN Security Council session regarding the use of the Government of National Accord to M'etiga international airport for military purposes," the ministry said in a statement.
