BEIJING, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- The following is a list of major shows, concerts, exhibitions and events in China on Saturday, Aug. 3:

-- Musical "Mamma Mia!"

Location: Shanghai Grand Theater, Shanghai

Time: 2:00 p.m.; 7:30 p.m.

The Chinese version of the classic musical "Mamma Mia!" made its debut in Shanghai in July 2011. Since then, the Chinese version has toured 24 cities in China and attracted more than 600,000 viewers.

The musical features a tale of a young woman about to get married on a Greek island who is on a quest to discover her real father.

Chinese is the 14th language version of "Mamma Mia!" since it debuted in London in 1999.

-- NCPA Drama Jane Eyre

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: Theatre, National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), Beijing

The Chinese-language stage-version play, based on Charlotte Bronte's classic novel, was the first NCPA-produced drama.

Directed by Wang Xiaoying, the production uncovers Jane Eyre's fight for freedom and fulfillment on her own terms as well as her love story with Mr. Rochester.

Since the premiere in June 2009, the drama has been presented at the NCPA in several rounds.

-- Opera Film "The Dawns Here Are Quiet"

Time: 9:15 a.m.

Location: Opera House, NCPA, Beijing

The Chinese-language film version of "The Dawns Here Are Quiet," produced by NCPA, will be shown at the center on Saturday, opening the 2019 NCPA International Opera Film Exhibition.

Based on renowned Russian writer Boris Vasilyev's novel of the same title, the production is adapted from a namesake opera.

The opera version was first staged at the NCPA in Nov. 2015 to mark the 70th anniversary of the victory of World War II. Enditem
