SHANGHAI, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures closed higher Friday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.
The most active gold contract for December delivery was up 4.75 yuan (about 69 U.S. cents) to close at 324.25 yuan a gram.
On Friday, the total trading volume for eight listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 767,606 lots, with a turnover of about 246.7 billion yuan.
