4 dead, 3 missing in north China mine accident

SHIJIAZHUANG, Aug. 2 (Xinhua) -- A mine accident in north China has killed four people and left three others missing, the emergency management bureau in Tangshan, Hebei Province said Friday.

The accident occurred at about 12:30 p.m. in a coal mine of Tangshan Mining Company under Kailuan Group, when 12 miners were working underground.

Five managed to escape safely. Four miners died despite treatment after being lifted. Three remain missing.

Over 200 rescuers have been sent to the site. Enditem
