SHENZHEN, Aug. 4 (Xinhua) -- The following are shows and exhibitions available in Shenzhen in the coming week:

Qixi Festival Chamber Concert

Date: Aug. 7

Time: 8 p.m.

Venue: Shenzhen Concert Hall

Introduction:

Classic Chinese and Western music pieces will be performed at the concert on the night of Qixi Festival, traditional Chinese Valentine's Day. Polish-born violinist Aleksandra Labinska and Portuguese pianist Ines Andrade will play the works of Mozart and Tchaikovsky as well as the renowned Chinese violin concerto "The Butterfly Lovers."

Violin Recital by Tseng Yu-Chien

Date: Aug. 7

Time: 8 p.m.

Venue: Mountain View Theater, Sea World Culture and Arts Center

Introduction:

Violinist Tseng Yu-Chien is rapidly building an international reputation as an emerging young soloist, praised for his "grace, poise and blistering virtuosity." In his upcoming concert, Tseng will perform a selective repertoire that reveals his full capability in violin playing. The program includes famous works by Tartini, Schumann, Ernst and Franck.

Swan Lake for Children by the Russian State Ballet

Date: Aug. 9-10

Time: 7:30 p.m. (Friday)/3 p.m., 7:30 p.m. (Saturday)

Venue: Shenzhen Children's Palace

Introduction:

Since its premiere in Moscow in 1877, the ballet "Swan Lake" has become one of the most famous ballets in the world. While the traditional version of the ballet is performed entirely through dance, narration is added in the new child-oriented adaptation to help children better understand the story. Enditem
