Shanghai gold futures close higher

SHANGHAI, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures closed higher Tuesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

The most active gold contract for December delivery was up 6.35 yuan (about 91 U.S. cents) to close at 335.55 yuan a gram.

On Tuesday, the total trading volume for eight listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 898,812 lots, with a turnover of about 303.1 billion yuan.
