TRIPOLI -- A total of 45 illegal immigrants have been rescued off Libya's western coast, the Libyan navy said Friday.

The immigrants, including eight women and two children, were rescued on Wednesday some 55 km off the coast of the capital Tripoli, according to a navy statement. (Libya-Immigrants-Rescue)

ANKARA -- The 10 Turkish sailors who were kidnapped by gunmen off the coast of Nigeria in July were freed on Friday, state-run Anadolu Agency reported.

RABAT -- Altogether 12 Chinese tourists were injured Friday morning in a car accident in Morocco's northern city of Fez, said Chinese Embassy in Morocco.

Around 9:00 a.m. (0800 GMT), a van rushed into a sidewalk of the old city of Fez, injuring 12 Chinese tourists who were taking photos, including two in severe condition. All the injured have been taken to a local hospital in Fez. (Morocco-China-Tourist)

TEHRAN -- Iran's Foreign Ministry said Friday that Israel's contribution to a U.S. plan of maritime coalition in the Gulf is a "threat" to the Islamic republic.

Iran considers the possible Israeli presence in the U.S.-led coalition in the Gulf as a "clear threat to its national security, and reserves the right to counter it," the Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said on Friday. (Iran-Israel-US) Enditem
