BEIJING, Aug. 10 (Xinhua) -- The following is a list of major shows, concerts, exhibitions and events in China Sunday, Aug. 11:

-- Ballet "Giselle"

Time: 7:30 p.m.

Location: National Center for the Performing Arts, Beijing

The romantic two-act ballet "Giselle" narrates a story of love, betrayal and redemption between merry village festivities. The work has traveled all over the world and never lost its appeal among audiences since its debut in Paris in 1841.

The version to be staged in Beijing is presented by the Teatro alla Sala Ballet Company from Italy.

-- Play "Henry V"

Location: Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center, Shanghai

Time: 2:00 p.m.

Presented jointly by the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre and the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), the Chinese version of "Henry V," a masterpiece of English playwright Shakespeare, is based on the latest translation of Shakespeare's original script, courtesy of RSC's Shakespeare Folio Translation project.

-- Original musical "Piaf! La Vie en Rose"

Location: Beijing Tianqiao Performing Arts Center, Beijing

Time: 2:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m.

The acclaimed musical celebrates the life and music of the legendary French chanson artist Edith Piaf.

Conceived and directed by theatrical maverick Gil Marsalla and starring Anne Carrere, a young French performer hailed as "Edith Piaf's legitimate musical heiress," the show narrates the rags-to-riches story of the Parisian singer's career through her unforgettable songs, complemented by a visual tapestry of previous unreleased photographs and images of the famous locations of the Edith Piaf era.
