GAZA -- The Israeli army killed early on Saturday morning four Palestinian gunmen on the border between eastern Gaza Strip and Israel, security sources and local media in Gaza reported.

The sources told Xinhua on condition of anonymity that the gunmen are militant members of Islamic Hamas movement's armed wing al-Qassam Brigades. (Israel-Gaza)

TRIPOLI -- Spokesman of Libya's east-based army Ahmad al-Mismari on Saturday announced that the army had accepted a UN-proposed humanitarian truce in the capital Tripoli, against the UN-backed government.

"The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces announces a halt to all military operations carried out by the National Army in the suburbs of Tripoli, starting from Saturday until Monday," the spokesman told a press conference. (Libya-UN-Truce)

TRIPOLI -- A car bomb explosion on Saturday killed two United Nations officials in the eastern Libyan city of Benghazi, according to a local source.

"Two of the staff of the UN Mission were killed and another was injured in a car bomb explosion, as a convoy of UN vehicles was passing in front of a local mall in Hawari neighborhood of Benghazi," the source told Xinhua. (Libya-Car Bomb)

ADEN -- Forces of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) managed on Saturday to seize Yemen's presidential palace following four days of intense fighting in the southern port city of Aden, a security official told Xinhua.

The local official, who asked to remain anonymous, said that "heavy armed forces of the STC entered the presidential palace in Aden's neighborhood of Crater without armed confrontations and fully captured the area." (Yemen-STC-Presidential Palace) Enditem
