ALGIERS, Aug. 14 (Xinhua) -- Algerian army detachments arrested seven smugglers in the southern Bordj Badji Mokhtar, and six drug traffickers in the provinces of Tlemcen and Oran, Defense Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.

"As part of the ongoing efforts to fight smuggling and organized crime, the army's personnel arrested seven suspects and seized a truck, a four-wheel vehicle, 12,600 liters of fuel, six power generators as well as two and a half tons of foodstuffs," the statement said.

Border guard forces in Tlemcen arrested two drug traffickers with 150 kg of psychotropic drugs in their possession while an army unit in Oran, in cooperation with the National Gendarmerie forces, arrested four drug traffickers with 1,050 hallucination pills. Enditem
