SHANGHAI, Aug. 16 (Xinhua) -- Crude oil futures closed higher Friday in daytime trading on the Shanghai International Energy Exchange.
The most active crude oil contract for September delivery was up 3.4 yuan (about 48 U.S. cents) to close at 424.6 yuan a barrel.
The total trading volume for five listed crude oil futures contracts on the exchange was 294,104 lots, with a turnover of about 122.8 billion yuan.
China launched the crude oil futures trading, which is open to overseas investment, on March 26 last year. Enditem
