BEIJING, Aug. 17 (Xinhua) -- The following are the highlights of China's key health news from the past week:

-- China makes headway in online pornographic literature crackdown

Chinese authorities had handled 10 criminal cases, 67 administrative cases and ordered over 70 websites to rectify transgressions by the end of July in campaigns against online vulgar and pornographic literature content.

A total of 347 case clues relating to pornography were transferred to authorities involved in the crackdown, according to the National Office for the Fight Against Pornography and Illegal Publications.

-- Book series on prominent Chinese figures to enter school libraries

A recently published book series featuring stories of prominent historical figures has unveiled its special edition for school libraries in Beijing.

The book series, consisting of four categories about Chinese pioneers, martyrs, masters and legendary figures, was compiled and published by several publishers including the Zhonghua Book Company and Xuexi Publishing House, led by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee.

-- Classic Chinese films to be screened in Beijing cinemas

Seven classic Chinese films will be screened in 18 cinemas in Beijing from Aug. 16 to 31, reminding the audience of the shining moments in China's history of cinematic arts.

The films include some of the best works of Chinese filmmakers, such as "Zhang Ga the Soldier Boy (Xiao Bing Zhang Ga)," a 1963 drama film following the life of a boy during the Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, and "The Dream Factory (Jia Fang Yi Fang)," a 1997 comedy film directed by renowned Chinese director Feng Xiaogang.
