BEIJING, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- The following is a list of major shows, concerts, exhibitions and events in China Monday, Aug. 19:
-- Exhibition "Picasso: Birth of a Genius"
Time: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Location: The UCCA Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing
The exhibition displays 103 works selected from the collection of the Musee National Picasso-Paris, offering a comprehensive overview of the first three-decade artistic career of Pablo Picasso (1881-1973).
The selection of works, including paintings, sculptures and works on paper, tells the story of the creative formation and evolution of the daring, original and prolific talent in the history of modern art.
-- Play "The Legend of Kung Fu"
Time: 5:15, 7:30 p.m.
Location: Hong Theater (Hongjuchang), Beijing
The performance tells the story of a young monk growing from innocence to experience and wisdom by practicing martial arts and studying Zen.
This show, different from other kung fu shows, successfully combines storytelling with kung fu.
-- Musical "Beauty and the Beast"
Time: 5:00 p.m.
Location: Walt Disney Grand Theater, Shanghai
The Chinese version of the original Broadway musical "Beauty and the Beast" is staged at Walt Disney Grand Theater located in Disneytown at Shanghai Disney Resort, where audiences will be able to enjoy a subtle blend of the Broadway classic with Chinese elements.
"Beauty and the Beast" is the second co-produced Chinese version of a Disney musical by Shanghai Disney Resort and Disney Theatrical Production after the Chinese version of "The Lion King." Enditem
