SHANGHAI, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Gold futures closed higher Wednesday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.
The most active gold contract for December delivery was up 0.45 yuan (about 6 U.S. cents) to close at 345.35 yuan a gram.
On Wednesday, the total trading volume for eight listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 425,588 lots, with a turnover of about 147.4 billion yuan.
