BEIJING, Aug. 23 (Xinhua) -- More than 39.58 million families with military personnel had been issued plaques of honor by the end of August, according to the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
The ministry released a regulation on producing, issuing and installing the honor plaques Friday, which requires that the honor plaques should not be used for commercial purposes or entertainment.
The regulation also allows parents of military personnel in active service to install an honor plaque if the parents don't live together with their children in service.
Offering honor plaques to families of martyrs or with members in the military has been a traditional practice of the Communist Party of China and the Chinese government.
The General Office of the State Council released a guideline in 2018 on issuing honor plaques, expanding the practice to include all families of martyrs, active military personnel and veterans. Enditem
