BEIJING, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition of 12 fonts that were developed based on Chinese calligraphy has opened at the National Museum of China (NMC).

The exhibition highlights the achievements of a project launched to facilitate the preservation and development of China's fine traditional culture, in which 100 artistic works of renowned Chinese calligraphers will be selected and developed into a word stock.

Experts said the project combines the art of calligraphy with information technology and Chinese character application and is an important move to develop and pass on China's traditional culture.

The exhibition is jointly hosted by the NMC, the China Calligraphers Association and Beijing Founder Electronics Co., Ltd., the developer of the fonts. Enditem
