Lebanon to offer health expertise to Iraq

BEIRUT, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- Iraqi Health Minister Alaa al-Alwan said on Thursday that Lebanon will help Iraq in overhauling its health sector, the National News Agency reported.

"Lebanese President Michel Aoun vowed to totally support cooperation between Lebanon and Iraq on all levels in the health sector," al-Alwan said during a meeting at Baabda Palace with Aoun in the presence of Lebanese Health Minister Jamil Jabak.

The Iraqi minister said that Lebanon and Iraq will activate their previously signed memorandum of understanding which will allow them to go forward in their collaboration.

Meanwhile, Aoun praised the health and medical sector in Lebanon and the achievements of the country in the field of drugs manufacturing.

Jabak said that Lebanon will export pharmaceutical drugs to Iraq in addition to helping Iraq by providing the medical expertise of Lebanese professionals. Enditem
