TEHRAN -- Iranian President Hassan Rouhani on Tuesday ruled out possibility of direct talks with the United States over Iran's nuclear program.

"We have never had any decision, at anytime, for direct talks with the United States," Rouhani said in an open session of the Iranian parliament on Tuesday. (Iran-U.S.-Talks)

BAGHDAD -- Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim on Tuesday met with Arab League (AL) Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul-Gheit over Arab and regional issues, ahead of a meeting for Arab foreign ministers on Sept. 10.

In a joint press conference after their meeting, al-Hakim told reporters that "we have discussed the Arab situation in general, and the security of the Gulf and navigation, and we clarified Iraq's position on efforts to ease the tension between the U.S. and Iran in the Gulf." (Iraq-AL)

KUWAIT CITY -- Kuwaiti and U.S. leaders will discuss the Gulf tensions and bilateral ties during a summit next week, U.S. Ambassador to Kuwait Lawrence Silverman said Tuesday.

Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who arrived in the U.S. on Monday, is scheduled to hold a summit on Sept. 12 with U.S. President Donald Trump in the White House. (Kuwait-U.S.-Emir Visit)

ADEN -- A delegation of the Southern Transitional Council (STC) arrived on Tuesday in Saudi Arabia's city of Jeddah to participate in reconciliation talks with the Saudi-backed Yemeni government.
