SHENZHEN, China, Sept. 5 (Xinhua) -- Germany smashed Jordan 96-62 in its final Group G game at the 2019 FIBA World Cup here on Thursday.

With both teams already condemned to drop into the tournament's classification round after losing their previous two games, Germany managed to regain some pride with its first win of the competition, while Jordan suffered its third straight defeat.

"I'm satisfied about my players sharing the ball today. They played together as a team and worked so hard. I'm excited and looking for good results in the classification round," Germany's coach Henrik Rodl said.

Four German players scored double digits, including Dennis Schroder, who finished a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists. Maximilian Kleber made a game-high 18 points.

Ahmad Al Dwairi led Jordan with 17 points and eight rebounds. Dar Tucker added 14 points.

The game went smoothly for Germany, who kept scoring easy baskets. The Germans shot for 52 percent beyond the arc, making 16 three-pointers out of 31, and beat Jordan 37-28 on the board, including seven offensive rebounds.

The classification round starts on September 7. Enditem
