NANCHANG, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Chinese Zhang Shuai and Peng Shuai reached quarterfinals in doubles at 2019 WTA Jiangxi Open on Wednesday, beating Gumulya from Indonesia and Rosalie from the Netherland 7-6, 6-2.
"We were not good in the first set, but luckily we adjusted later, and I hope we could do better in the following games," said Zhang.
In the other doubles matches, Chinese players Wang Xinyu/Zhu Lin and Jiang Xinyu/Tang Qianhui both claimed their victories. Chile's Alexa Guarachi and Mexico's Giuliana Olmos also reached quarterfinals in doubles.
Also on Wednesday, Chinese player Liu Fangzhou was defeated in second round singles by third-seeded Magda Linette from Poland. And fifth-seeded Rebecca Peterson from Sweden and seventh-seeded Kateryna Kozlova from Ukraine both reached quarterfinals in singles. Enditem
