CSL roundup: Henan Jianye beat lethargic Hebei China Fortune 4-1

BEIJING, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Dominant Henan Jianye thrashed Hebei China Fortune 4-1 on Saturday at home in the 24th round of the Chinese Super League (CSL), pushing their opponents close to the relegation zone.

Thanks to the turnover of Heibei's defense, Zhou Dingyang scored an opening goal for the Henan side in the 11th minute of the game. Nine minutes later, Wang Shangyuan netted with his head to extend the lead to 2-0.

The home team controlled the second half when Feng Zhuoyi and Christian Bassogog added two more goals at 56th and 58th minutes respectively to seal the victory. Jiang Zhipeng scored a consolation goal in the 84th minute of the game.

After the lackluster performance in Guangzhou, Heibei now ranks 13th in the CSL table, only five points above the relegation zone

Elsewhere, two goals from Eran Zahavi helped Guangzhou R&F come from behind and win over the visiting Tianjin Tianhai 2-1.

The visitors took the lead in the 18th minutes as Chinese international striker Yang Xun got the ball in the goal area after two deflections and demonstrated his composure in front of the R&F goalkeeper.

Zahavi, the top scorer of the CSL, scored his 25th goal of the season in a corner at 42nd minute to tie the game 1-1. The show of 32-year-old Israeli forward's didn't end until the 89th minutes when he contributed a sensational rabona winner in front of the home fans.

In the last two games of the 24th round of the CSL on Sunday, Shanghai Shenhua will face Tianjin Teda and Wuhan Zall will meet Dalian Yifang. Enditem
