TEHRAN -- British oil tanker Stena Impero, released by Iran, hasn't left the Iranian port yet, an Iranian official said Tuesday.

The British oil tanker "has been released on bail by Iran's judicial authorities, but despite some reports, it is still in the Iranian port" of Bandar Abbas, Mohammad Rastad, head of Iran's Ports and Shipping Organization, told Iranian Student News Agency (ISNA). (Iran-Britain-Oil Tanker)

CAIRO -- An Egyptian court ordered life imprisonment of an Egyptian who hijacked a plane in 2016 and forced it to fly to Cyprus, Egypt's official MENA news agency reported Tuesday.

In March 2016, Seif-Eddin Mostafa hijacked a domestic Alexandria-Cairo flight, with 72 passengers and crew members on board, by using a fake explosive belt. He forced the plane to reroute to Cyprus and land in Larnaca Airport. (Egypt-Plane Hijacker-Life Sentence)

ADEN -- About 15 people were killed Tuesday in an airstrike launched by the Saudi Arabia-led coalition in Yemen's southern province of Dhalea, a military official told Xinhua.

The military source who asked to remain unnamed said that "a fighter jet carried out an airstrike against a Houthi-controlled area but mistakenly struck a residential house in Qataba district located in the northwestern part of Dhalea." (Yemen-Saudi-led Airstrike)

ALGIERS -- At least eight infants were killed Tuesday when a maternity section was hit by fire in a hospital located in the province of El Oued, 800 km southeast of the capital city Algiers.

Farouk Achour, an official at the firefighting department, told the state television channel of ENTV that the fire occurred at around 4 a.m. local time, as five babies died from burns, while three others died from inhaling smoke, adding that 76 people, including 11 infants, were rescued.
