1st LD-Writethru: Chinese shares close higher Friday

BEIJING, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- Chinese stocks closed higher on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.11 percent at 2,932.17 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.89 percent higher at 9,548.96 points.

Combined trading volume of stocks in the two indices expanded to 397.7 billion yuan (about 56.2 billion U.S. dollars) from 538.03 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Shares in the virtual reality, China-made software and consumer electronics sectors led the rise, with shares of Jiangxi Lianchuang Opto-electronic Science & technology CO., Ltd. surging by the daily 10-percent limit to 13.04 yuan per share.

Bucking the trend, shares in the medical equipment sector were among the biggest losers. Guangzhou Boji Medical & Biotechnological Co., Ltd. saw its shares drop by 10 percent to 19.17 yuan per share.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.46 percent to close at 1,647.53 points. Enditem
